Sharia Law – America’s Favorite Bedtime Stories
80Scary, Faceless, Burka-wearing Women
The other day while at Yum-Yum donuts, I picked up a magazine called Military Press, a magazine targeted to the military community. The cover caught my attention immediately – a woman’s head covered in a black scarf with dangerous eyes staring back at me – and the caption read: SHARIA LAW Is the United States today a de facto sharia state?
Pretty scary stuff, regardless of whether or not I knew what the words meant.
I jumped in line and opened the October first issue of Military Press. A picture of a different woman, covered in a headdress and exposing her sharia-law planning eyes, appeared on the next page, and the caption below it read, “A close look at recent events points to some alarming conclusions about the tenets of sharia law taking hold in our once-proud constitutional republic…Several recent examples illustrate this point.”
Yikes! I was petrified, and I’m not even military! Fear had taken over my entire being, including my olfactory system. I was oblivious to the aroma that had only moments ago made me drool.
I began to scout the donut store for sharia law-makers and U.S. law-breakers hiding behind hijabs, hoodies and baseball caps. The woman behind the counter was wearing an over-sized apron to hide her womanly figure and a hair net (yeah, right) contained her locks.
I eyed her up and down with suspicion.
My gut instincts told me that even though her headdress was a stretchy fishnet, it was not really a hair net, but a hijab in disguise. She was most likely involved in some type of underground organization that was infiltrating the White House in order to rid the U.S. of the Constitution and replace it with the Crayon, a Muslim version of the Bible, and sharia law.
Although I had never read the Crayon, I did know that it was written by the Prophet Muhammad Ali, whose wife was turned into a pillar of salt for having wandering eyes.
What type of God turns a prophet’s wife into a pillar of salt?
Not a God from the good ol’ U. S. of A., that, I’m sure.
There was no doubt in my mind that I was standing atop of underground tunnels that led to and fro and back and forth—from the ACLU to Rachel Maddow’s Socialist Headquarters, from Libya to the voting booths in Egypt. The tunnels were probably jam-packed with communist union members organizing demonstrations, protests and rallies, reciting passages of the Crayon and enjoying their coffee-dipped donut holes.
It all made so much sense.
I drove home as fast as I could, antsy to read the educational article and take notes on my Glenn Beck-approved, double-sided chalkboard…
- Officials halt prayers before football games at East Tennessee school - Kingsport Times-News
A public high school in southeastern Tennessee will no longer allow prayer to be uttered over loudspeakers before football games, following a complaint.
Sharia Law Coming to America!
The following are excerpts from an article written by Janet Levy (americanthinker.com) and printed in Military Press magazine in October 2011. The article suggests that Christianity is being suppressed, radical Islam is taking over the United States and that Muslims have more protections than Christians under the U.S. Constitution:
Christianity Suppressed:
In October, students at a Chattanooga, Tennessee high school were told that their longtime tradition of praying at practice and before games would no longer be allowed. The school superintendent had called an end to prayer at all school functions following a complaint from the Freedom From Religion Foundation.
Truth: This event occurred in the year 2010 at Soddy-Daisy High School. The complaint was made by a student to the Freedom from Religion Foundation. The school held prayer while the stadium was full of people before a game, and the prayer was announced over the loudspeakers. The issue at hand, which was conveniently omitted from the article, was not a silent prayer, but instead broadcasting a prayer over the loudspeakers to all attendees.
- Cop Orders Kids to Stop Praying at Supreme Court « FOX News Radio
“In addition, under 40 U.S.C. section 6135, it is unlawful to parade, stand or move in processions or assemblages in the building and grounds, including the plaza and steps, but not including the perimeter sidewalks.”
In July, students visiting the Supreme Court from an Arizona Christian school were stopped by police as they bowed their heads and quietly prayed for the justices. The students were standing outside the court building to the side at the bottom of the building steps. They weren't blocking traffic, but an officer abruptly approached them and ordered them to stop praying immediately.
Truth: This event also occurred in 2010. The school children participated in prayer on the steps of the Supreme Court building and were asked to move by an officer. Janet Levy's article fails to mention that it is unlawful to parade, stand or move in a procession or assemblages in the building, grounds, and steps (40 U.S.C. section 6135). This is true to all groups, not just Christian school children. The children were allowed to continue their prayer on the sidewalk.
- Background on Arab Fest Arrests
City of Dearborn
Four Christians were arrested in June for disorderly conduct at the Dearborn Arab International Festival after handing out copies of the Gospel of John. The four had stationed themselves five blocks from the festival and did not actively approach anyone, but instead waited for others to approach them. Still, police officers confiscated their video cameras and led the four Christians away in handcuffs to shouts of "Allah hu Akbar" from Muslim bystanders.
Truth: This happened in 2010. Janet Levy fails to mention that the Dearborn Arab International Festival is a permitted event. People must have booths in order to vend commodities, goods, and literature. The permit process for certain events was upheld in a US Supreme Court decision.
Five Christian-based organizations had booths at this festival.
The four people arrested have several YouTube videos of attending this event previously, have never stood five blocks away from the festival, are always in and on the festival grounds handing out literature and preaching to the crowd.
This “Christian” group often goes to Muslim gatherings in an attempt to convert with literature and face-to-face dialogue and sermons, NOT by standing five blocks away from an event and waiting for people to approach them.
The Christian group was relocated from inside the festival grounds to the entrance where they were free to continue on with their attempted, aggressive conversions.
Islam Accepted:
In the State of California, 7th-grade students at Excelsior Middle School in Discovery Bay, California adopted Muslim names, prayed on prayer rugs, and celebrated Ramadan under a state-mandated curriculum that requires instruction about various religions. In 2006, the U.S. Supreme Court again declined to hear legal challenges by concerned Excelsior parents, who complained that the instruction was actually religious indoctrination and that Christianity and Judaism were not given equal time and exposure. The curriculum has been upheld as appropriate multicultural material.
Truth: I am unable to locate from either a reliable news source or court documents that students prayed on rugs. Students did not celebrate Ramadan, but did simulate the holiday by giving up something for a day, like video games. The curriculum, link below, also included religious study for The Mayans, Aztecs, China, West Africa, etc. The curriculum allowed parents to have their children “opt out” of certain parts of the curriculum, without a negative impact on their grades.

After Carver Elementary School in San Diego absorbed Muslim students from a defunct charter school in September 2006, a special recess was provided for the students to pray, classes were segregated by gender, and pork was removed from the school menu. A teacher's aide at the school led children in prayer and was provided with a lesson plan allotting an hour of class time for Islamic prayer. In essence, Muslim students alone were privileged with public school time to practice their religion at an additional cost of $450,000 in public funds and a loss of instruction time.
Truth: Pork had been removed from the school lunch menu for several years and not because of children and/or parents of the Muslim faith who complained, but because it was gaining unpopularity and considered unhealthy. Carver Elementary, after accepting Muslim students, reviewed their policies and allowed all children (not just Muslim children) to participate in prayer as long as it was outside of the classroom during recess and teachers were not involved. Carver Elementary did not, nor does it currently, segregate class by gender. The $450,000.00 figure is a figure that not only can’t be verified, but can’t be truthful because there is no class time for prayer. The San Diego Unified School district conducted an investigation into allegations received and could not substantiate the allegations.
Who is Janet Levy?
Janet Levy’s article, paragraph after paragraph, is built on exaggerations, omissions and untruths. Whether she actually believes the article to be truthful, and other articles she has written that are similar, is anyone’s guess. She seems to be an opportunist banking on scaring people, but at the same time seems to have scared herself silly. It is very unfortunate that there are most likely (and at least) hundreds of thousands of people who have read it and believe it to be fact. It is even more unfortunate that a magazine, its targeted audience military, printed it and in this current year, 2011.
Janet Levy calls herself an activist. She is a freelance writer and blogger, whose mission is to prevent sharia law from taking over the U.S. legal system. She is a public speaker on sharia law, warning listeners that sharia law has already infiltrated the school system and universities, law enforcement agencies and the political process. She is adamant that the U.S. isn’t too far away from allowing stonings as punishment for women with wandering eyes, amputations for thieves, and marriage dissolutions by saying three times, “I divorce you.” She seems to be very distressed over this, especially because women are not allowed to divorce their husbands in this same manner.
I was unable to find out if Janet Levy is married and/or if her husband is a divorce attorney.
I was also unable to find out if Janet Levy went through a costly divorce and was ordered to pay alimony.
Admittedly, I didn’t spend too much time looking for this information.
Janey Levy also warns people of the homosexual agenda, an agenda that she believes to be an organized, militant plan.
I exhausted all avenues and was unable to locate an article written by Janet Levy linking the two agendas in order to achieve one, common goal. Perhaps it will be forthcoming, and I look forward to reading about the school curriculum.
I submitted an e-mail to Military Press magazine, pointing out some of the errors above and did receive a response. I was informed that they are currently working on a retraction of the article.
If the retraction is ever published, I will update this article.
*****In the October 15, 2011 issue of Military Press magazine, the magazine did issue an apology based upon the "reporter's" mis-reporting of Carver Elementary School. Because of the numerous factual errors in the one, single example, Military Press stated that it is unable to vouch for the any of the other examples in Janet Levvy's story.*****
Stop the Hate
People fear what they don't understand.
When people are afraid, rationale and logic is often tossed aside.
People will believe anything, because ignorance is more convenient and less time consuming than education and learning the truth.
Don't be ignorant. Learn the truth.

Fear is a very powerful tool used by Religions, politicians, governments, militaries, Presidential Candidates, parents, teachers, political parties, the media, etc., etc.. We are daily bombarded with half truths and outright lies to achieve someones or somthings idea of what is right. The truth is out there, we just have to find it. Very Good article, thanks,
Peter
Wow. Very well done, Ms. Deni. We can only hope that Ms. Levy finds a competent surgeon to remove that corncob that's umm...embedded in her person. Thank you for writing this!
I don't think I am going to be able to pass a yum yum doughnuts again without thinking about Sharia Law. Thank you for permanently making that connection with your truly outstanding article.
Great hub, intolerance has never and will never lead to a btter society only open minds and acceptance can do that.

Excellent article Deni. Ignorance pervades the Far Right. Much of it is used to divide the electorate and to place fear into people to advance their hateful agendas. Their is NO evidence to show that Sharia Law has inched its way into anything. Their is no way it ever could. My fear is that the Fundamentalist Christians are inserting their radical beliefs into our laws. That is a much bigger threat.
